If you’ve got a little time, energy and enthusiasm to spare for the environment, and want to meet other local people interested in sustainable living, why not join PEG and help us run one of the following projects…
Current projects
- Program of talks, films, workshops, visits and bushwalks – generally one after Tuesday meeting and one weekend activity per month.
- PEG picnic in Lions Park – a relaxed family-friendly “green networking” gathering.
- Managing the Woy Woy Environment centre.
- Eco-fairs: one-off day events promoting green living.
- Maintaining our website with local green information and links
- Local food network: bulk-buying organic supplies at low cost.
Things we could do with more members (that means you!)…
- Ecogarden in the centre’s garden.
- Local schools “energy-saving” fundraising project – encourage schools to sell energy-saving lightbulbs as fundraising rather than chocolates. Could see if JackGreen or similar would give school a donation for every GreenPower sign-up, etc.
- Green mums group – for mums interested in green living to network.
- EcoLiving Fair at Woy Woy South Primary School (or elsewhere) – could be the school fete but with a green theme (as per our grant application)
- Reuse and Recycle Directory - listing local recycling opportunities: op shops, salvage yards, etc.
- Car-pooling network: maybe on this website, matching people eg commuting to Sydney or Gosford.
And if you’ve got an idea for a project, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
